Boar in the Fern: Stories from a Taranaki Pig Hunter
Author(s): Murray Williams
I was born in the South Taranaki town of Hawera in 1953 and moved to New Plymouth with my mother, older brother, and two younger sisters, in 1959. At the age of thirteen I experienced my first pig hunt and was hooked. I still own a pack of dogs and continue to hunt today and I am a current member of the Tainui Pig Hunting Club. I hope you enjoy this book and can relate to the thrill of the hunt, as my dogs, my friends and I have done. My wife Colleen and I still live in New Plymouth, and what better province is there to live and bring up a family, than the mighty Taranaki.
